TWD - Parisian Apple Tartlet

This week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe has to be the simplest one to be chosen, at least since I joined in the fun! Puff pastry, apples, a little sugar and butter and you're done! I was a little bit disappointed in the puff pastry I bought. I got it at a local bakery but I think it had been in the freezer a bit too long because it didn't puff up quite as much as I had expected. And I must not have used enough sugar, my tarts turned out a bit bland. Oh, well, nothing a gigantic scoop of vanilla ice cream can't fix!

Ice cream makes everything better! I needed caramel sauce too.

It looks really good with the ice cream on top - I did the same thing. I'm glad that improved the taste for you!

I agree with you about the vanilla icecream. My pastries bombed altogether. I think yours look very good.

Well I'm in love with these. I think ice cream would be great on top and caramel sauce too. I can't wait to make these again.

I was so bummed when I didn't have any heavy cream in the fridge to make caramel sauce! I so wanted some on top! Salted Caramel! And hubs was digging in the fridge for ice cream that just wasn't there!

Yeah - the ice cream is kind of key in this, isn't it? I wanted to find cinnamon ice cream or something, but hmmmmm...

Caramel sauce - that would be awesome.

Hee hee! I love the gigantic scoop of ice cream! My puff pastry didn't puff either and I thought it was because it wasn't cold enough. I'm going to try it again tonight and see what happens.

Giant scoops of ice cream solve lots of problems. Next challenge, world peace? Oh yeah, we already made a cookie for that :)
